Role Overview
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Instapro Group, you are tasked with ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our platforms, which are crucial for the success of tradespeople and homeowners across Europe and the UK. You will be part of the Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team, providing essential cloud infrastructure solutions.
Team and Technology
You will collaborate with a team that includes a technical product manager, experienced engineers, an engineering manager, a director of technical strategy & execution, and agile coaches. The team is passionate about cloud technologies, distributed systems, and automation. We provision infrastructure using Terraform and primarily use AWS, with our applications running on EKS Kubernetes clusters and AWS Lambda. We also manage a self-hosted GitLab for collaboration, testing, and deployment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with the team and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Eliminate toil through automation, optimizing the operation of our infrastructure and services.
- Monitor the health and performance of our infrastructure.
- Respond and troubleshoot production incidents, leading blameless post-mortems for learning and improvement.
- Enable engineers outside the team with their needs and promote industry best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of back-end development and operations experience.
- Extensive AWS experience, particularly with services like EKS (Kubernetes) and Lambda.
- Proficiency in Kubernetes cluster administration.
- Strong knowledge in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), specifically Terraform.
- Solid security knowledge across network, application, infrastructure, and database layers.
- Experience with observability tools such as Sentry, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, and Jaeger.
