About the Role
21CS is looking for a skilled Z/OS software developer to provide design input and participate in key decision discussions around the development of the product end to end. This role is responsible for designing, building, and delivering the backend components of a cloud-based query and reporting tool for enterprise databases. You will design and implement a REST API layer to communicate with the frontend components and collaborate with product owners and customers to understand their needs and help address them with the product.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deliver backend components for a cloud-based query and reporting tool.
- Implement a REST API layer for communication with frontend components.
- Collaborate with product owners and customers to understand and address their needs.
- Participate in key decision discussions around product development.
Skills and Experience
- 4+ years of Java development experience.
- Solid understanding of relational databases such as Db2, Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL.
- Experience in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and their services like EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, or Cloud SQL.
- Experience in designing REST APIs.
- Competency in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- Eagerness to work in a full-stack, collaborative environment.
- Practical experience as a participant in an Agile/Scrum project management.
- Experience with the Atlassian suite, specifically Jira, Bitbucket, and Confluence.

This is a full-time position based in Durham, NC, with a hybrid work model allowing you to work three days a week from our office while enjoying the flexibility of remote work. Candidates must possess the appropriate visa to work with us, as we are unable to provide sponsorship.
