Join Our Fintech Team as a Senior Data Engineer
Are you passionate about data engineering and fintech? Agoda is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our rapidly expanding fintech team in Bangkok. About the Role
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will lead the team technically to improve the scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of our existing data systems. You will be responsible for building, administering, and scaling data processing pipelines. You will work with a technology stack that includes Scala, Spark, Java, Golang, Python3, scripting (Bash/Python), Hadoop, SQL, and S3.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical improvements in data systems.
- Build and scale data processing pipelines.
- Design, build, test, and deploy new libraries, frameworks, or full systems for our core systems.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers and product owners to automate large-scale data management and analysis tasks.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software and data engineering.
- Expertise in Apache Spark and JVM (Java or Scala).
- Experience with Big Data technologies and SQL.
- Analytical problem-solving skills and experience with systems administration in Linux.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of Hadoop ecosystems.
- Experience with open-source products.
- Python/Shell scripting skills.
- Experience working in an agile environment using test-driven methodologies.
