Senior Data Engineer - Fintech

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic Fintech team based in Bangkok. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about data engineering and has a keen interest in the fintech sector. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will lead the team in enhancing the scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of our existing data systems. You will also be responsible for building, administering, and scaling data processing pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical improvement of our data systems to enhance scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency.
• Build, administer, and scale data processing pipelines.
• Navigate and utilize our technology stack, including Scala, Spark, Java, Golang, Python3, scripting (Bash/Python), Hadoop, SQL, and S3.
• Design, build, test, and deploy new libraries, frameworks, or full systems for our core systems while maintaining high standards of testing and code quality.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers and product owners to identify and build tools to automate large-scale data management and analysis tasks.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software and data engineering.
• Strong experience with Apache Spark.
• Expert-level understanding of JVM and proficiency in either Java or Scala.
• Experience in debugging and reasoning about production issues.
• A good understanding of data architecture principles is preferred.
• Experience with Big Data technologies and tools.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Analytical problem-solving capabilities and experience.
• Systems administration skills in Linux.

Preferred Qualifications

• Good understanding of Hadoop ecosystems.
• Experience working with open-source products.
• Python/Shell scripting skills.
• Experience working in an agile environment using test-driven methodologies.
