Are you passionate about data engineering and fintech? Agoda is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our rapidly expanding fintech team in Bangkok. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and make a significant impact in the fintech space.
About the Role
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will lead our team in enhancing the scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of our existing data systems. You will be responsible for building, administering, and scaling data processing pipelines, and you will work with a diverse technology stack including Scala, Spark, Java, Golang, Python3, Hadoop, SQL, and more.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical improvements in our data systems to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Build and scale data processing pipelines.
- Design, build, test, and deploy new libraries, frameworks, or full systems for our core systems.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers and product owners to automate large-scale data management and analysis tasks.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software and data engineering.
- Expertise in Apache Spark and a strong understanding of JVM, Java, or Scala.
- Experience with Big Data technologies and SQL.
- Analytical problem-solving skills and experience with systems administration in Linux.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Hadoop ecosystems and open-source products.
- Python/Shell scripting skills.
- Experience working in an agile environment using test-driven methodologies.
