About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic Fintech team based in Bangkok. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about data engineering and has a keen interest in the fintech sector. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of our data systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Technical Improvements: Guide the team in improving the scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of our existing data systems.
- Data Processing Pipelines: Build, administer, and scale data processing pipelines.
- Technology Stack Navigation: Work comfortably with technologies such as Scala, Spark, Java, Golang, Python3, scripting (Bash/Python), Hadoop, SQL, S3, etc.
- System Design and Deployment: Design, build, test, and deploy new libraries, frameworks, or full systems for our core systems while maintaining high standards of testing and code quality.
- Automation Tools: Collaborate with experienced engineers and product owners to identify and build tools to automate large-scale data management and analysis tasks.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in software and data engineering.
- Technical Expertise: Proficient in Apache Spark and have an expert-level understanding of JVM and either Java or Scala.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical problem-solving capabilities and experience.
- System Administration: Skills in Linux systems administration.
Preferred Skills
- Hadoop Ecosystems: Good understanding of Hadoop ecosystems.
- Open-source Products: Experience working with open-source products.
- Scripting Skills: Proficiency in Python/Shell scripting.
- Agile Environment: Experience working in an agile environment using test-driven methodologies.
