About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic Fintech team based in Bangkok. This role is pivotal in driving the technical direction of our data systems, ensuring they are scalable, stable, and efficient. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will lead the team in enhancing our existing data systems and building new ones to support our fintech initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Lead the team in improving the scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of our existing data systems.
- Data Pipeline Management: Build, administer, and scale data processing pipelines using technologies such as Scala, Spark, Java, Golang, Python3, and Hadoop.
- System Design and Development: Design, build, test, and deploy new libraries, frameworks, or full systems for our core systems while maintaining high standards of testing and code quality.
- Collaboration: Work with experienced engineers and product owners to identify and build tools to automate large-scale data management and analysis tasks.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in software and data engineering, with a strong background in Apache Spark and JVM technologies.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Java or Scala, with a good understanding of data architecture principles and Big Data technologies.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical problem-solving capabilities and experience in debugging and reasoning about production issues.
- Systems Administration: Skills in Linux systems administration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hadoop Ecosystem: Good understanding of Hadoop ecosystems.
- Open-source Products: Experience working with open-source products.
- Scripting Skills: Proficiency in Python/Shell scripting.
- Agile Methodologies: Experience working in an agile environment using test-driven methodologies.
