Agoda is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our rapidly expanding Fintech team in Bangkok. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and innovative projects in the fintech domain. We offer relocation assistance for the right candidate.
About the Role
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will lead the technical efforts to improve the scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of our existing data systems. You will be responsible for building, administering, and scaling data processing pipelines, and designing new libraries, frameworks, or full systems for our core systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the team technically in improving our data systems.
- Build, administer, and scale data processing pipelines.
- Design, build, test, and deploy new libraries, frameworks, or full systems.
- Work with experienced engineers and product owners to automate large-scale data management and analysis tasks.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software and data engineering.
- Expertise in Apache Spark and JVM (Java or Scala).
- Experience with Big Data technologies and SQL.
- Strong analytical problem-solving capabilities.
- Systems administration skills in Linux.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Hadoop ecosystems.
- Python/Shell scripting skills.
- Experience working in an agile environment using test-driven methodologies.
