Join Our Fintech Team as a Senior Data Engineer
Are you passionate about data engineering and fintech? Agoda is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our rapidly expanding fintech team in Bangkok. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and make a significant impact in the fintech space.
About the Role
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will lead the technical efforts to improve the scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of our existing data systems. You will be responsible for building, administering, and scaling data processing pipelines, and you will work with a variety of technologies including Scala, Spark, Java, Golang, Python3, Hadoop, SQL, and S3.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the team in improving the scalability and efficiency of data systems.
- Build, administer, and scale data processing pipelines.
- Design, build, test, and deploy new libraries, frameworks, or full systems for our core systems.
- Work with experienced engineers and product owners to automate large-scale data management and analysis tasks.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software and data engineering.
- Expertise in Apache Spark and JVM (Java or Scala).
- Experience with Big Data technologies and SQL.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Systems administration skills in Linux.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Hadoop ecosystems.
- Python/Shell scripting skills.
- Experience working in an agile environment using test-driven methodologies.
