Join Our Fintech Team as a Senior Data Engineer
Agoda is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our rapidly expanding Fintech team in Bangkok. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that drive efficiencies and explore new market opportunities in the fintech space.
About the Role
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will lead the technical efforts to improve the scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of our existing data systems. You will be responsible for building, administering, and scaling data processing pipelines, and you will work with a technology stack that includes Scala, Spark, Java, Golang, Python3, Hadoop, SQL, and more.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the team in enhancing the performance of our data systems.
- Build and scale data processing pipelines.
- Design, build, test, and deploy new libraries, frameworks, or full systems for our core systems.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers and product owners to automate large-scale data management and analysis tasks.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software and data engineering.
- Expertise in Apache Spark and JVM, with proficiency in Java or Scala.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience in debugging production issues.
- Familiarity with data architecture principles and Big Data technologies.
- SQL experience and systems administration skills in Linux.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of Hadoop ecosystems.
- Experience with open-source products and Python/Shell scripting.
- Experience working in an agile environment using test-driven methodologies.
