About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic Fintech team in Bangkok. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about data engineering and has experience in the fintech sector. You will be working closely with our finance business team and Fintech product owners to drive efficiencies and explore new market opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the team technically to improve the scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of our existing data systems.
- Build, administer, and scale data processing pipelines.
- Navigate and utilize our technology stack, including Scala, Spark, Java, Golang, Python3, scripting (Bash/Python), Hadoop, SQL, S3, etc.
- Design, build, test, and deploy new libraries, frameworks, or full systems for our core systems while maintaining high standards of testing and code quality.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers and product owners to identify and build tools to automate large-scale data management and analysis tasks.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software and data engineering.
- Strong experience with Apache Spark.
- Expert-level understanding of JVM and proficiency in either Java or Scala.
- Experience in debugging and reasoning about production issues.
- A good understanding of data architecture principles is preferred.
- Experience with Big Data technologies and tools.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Analytical problem-solving capabilities and experience.
- Systems administration skills in Linux.
Preferred Qualifications
- Good understanding of Hadoop ecosystems.
- Experience working with open-source products.
- Python/Shell scripting skills.
- Experience working in an agile environment using test-driven methodologies.
