Join Our Fintech Team as a Senior Data Engineer
Agoda is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our rapidly expanding Fintech team in Bangkok. This is an exciting opportunity for engineers with a passion for fintech and data engineering to work on cutting-edge projects that drive efficiencies and open new market opportunities.
About the Role
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will lead the technical efforts to improve the scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of our existing data systems. You will be responsible for building, administering, and scaling data processing pipelines, and you will work with a technology stack that includes Scala, Spark, Java, Golang, Python3, scripting (Bash/Python), Hadoop, SQL, and S3.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the team technically in enhancing our data systems.
- Build, administer, and scale data processing pipelines.
- Design, build, test, and deploy new libraries, frameworks, or full systems for our core systems.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers and product owners to automate large-scale data management and analysis tasks.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software and data engineering.
- Expertise in Apache Spark and JVM (Java or Scala).
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience with data architecture principles.
- Experience with Big Data technologies and SQL.
- Systems administration skills in Linux.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Hadoop ecosystems.
- Python/Shell scripting skills.
- Experience working in an agile environment using test-driven methodologies.
