Position Summary

Walmart Global Tech is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our team in Sunnyvale/Bellevue. In this role, you will tackle challenging problems using Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques to create immediate business impact. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be instrumental in shaping and delivering on the MINT data sciences charter.

Responsibilities

Analytical Modeling: Engage in feature relevance and selection, exploratory data analysis, and apply advanced statistical methods and modeling techniques such as graphical models, Bayesian inference, NLP, Computer Vision, neural networks, SVM, and Random Forest.
Deep Learning: Fine-tune Large Language Models and Vision Models, and apply model compression methods like distillation and quantization.
Model Assessment & Validation: Conduct model fit testing, tuning, and validation using techniques like Chi square, ROC curve, and root mean square error.
Model Deployment & Scaling: Understand the impact of variables and features on model performance and manage model storage formats.
Data Visualization: Create graphical representations of data and model outcomes, and design data representations for simple data sets.

What You'll Bring

A Master's Degree with over 4 years of relevant experience or a PhD with over 2 years of relevant experience in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Technology, Operations Research, or a related field.
Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with Large Language Models, Generative AI, NLP, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning techniques.
Experience with open-source frameworks and packages like scikit-learn, Numpy, Pandas, matplotlib, and Pytorch/Tensorflow.
Knowledge of experimental design and A/B testing.
