Senior Software Engineer (Web, React)

Job Description

Position Summary

As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in web development with React, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance web applications for Walmart. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that enhance the shopping experience for millions of customers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

Requirement and Scoping Analysis: Conduct risk analysis, cost analysis, and requirement classification to align business objectives with technical solutions. Create user stories and anticipate solution risks.
Solution Design: Assist in designing scalable and distributed systems. Convert high-level designs into detailed designs using mock screens and pseudo codes.
Coding: Develop single-page applications (SPAs) using React, Redux, Next.js, and other modern web technologies. Ensure code quality, accessibility, and usability. Collaborate with other engineers to improve performance and stability.
Testing: Prepare and execute test cases to ensure code quality. Use tools like Selenium and Jira for automation and agile testing.
Program Monitoring: Track program metrics and ensure adherence to project timelines. Use tools like Splunk and Dynatrace for monitoring and debugging.
Defect Management and Troubleshooting: Analyze and fix defects, perform regression testing, and troubleshoot performance issues.
DevOps Orientation: Conduct maintenance procedures, monitor application performance, and evaluate change requests. Use Jenkins and Git for continuous integration and deployment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 3 years of experience, or 5 years of experience in software engineering.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in a related field and experience with digital accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA).
