Position Summary
Join Walmart as a Staff Software Engineer and be part of a team that empowers our US stores and eCommerce business through technological innovation. You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of retail by developing software that enhances customer experiences and supports our team members, stores, and merchants.
What You'll Do
- Architect and Implement: Lead the design and implementation of new functionalities and user experiences.
- Collaborate: Work closely with your manager, product, operations, and design teams to plan, execute, and deliver on sprint, quarterly, and project goals.
- Technical Leadership: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert, providing technical leadership and mentorship to your teammates and other engineers.
What You'll Bring
- Educational Background: A BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience: Over 10 years of industry experience, with at least 8 years in software development within an agile team environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in creating mobile applications using the React Native framework, and experience in design, development, coding, testing, and releasing to QA.
- Performance Monitoring: Experience with monitoring mobile app performance, stability, and leveraging data to improve these metrics.
- Code Quality: Ability to improve code quality through writing unit tests, automation, and performing code reviews.
- Software Design: Strong foundation in software design, creating software that is extensible, reusable, and meets architectural objectives.
