YOUR FUTURE ROLE
As a Senior DevOps Engineer at SAP, you will join the Shared Management Services group within the Sovereign Cloud Technology & Engineering unit. This role places you at the heart of a team dedicated to designing, developing, deploying, and managing the foundational platform and services for SAP's Sovereign Cloud Shared Management Services.
What You Will Do
- Engage with SAP Sovereign Cloud engineering and operations experts across a globally distributed team.
- Drive innovation and execution of disciplined and standardized processes and tools.
- Address mission-critical capability gaps and opportunities for maximized efficiency.
- Manage backup and disaster recovery drills to ensure failure readiness.
- Operate and improve the existing foundation and provisioning approach, creating best practices and innovating new options.
- Coordinate significantly with global Sovereign Cloud operations and engineering teams, regional teams, and hyperscaler provider partners.
What You Bring
- Strong technical skills in Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools.
- Proven ability to manage ambiguities while being innovative and collaborative.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong cultural awareness.
- Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.
- Fluent in English; German is a plus.
CORE TASKS MAY INCLUDE
- Collaboration with engineering and product management to ensure user and operator needs are considered.
- Definition of operations model and operational processes and procedures.
- Production of documentation for processes and procedures.
- Define and execute technical tasks independently within the assigned functional areas of responsibility.
Work Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in technical infrastructure at a global scale.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with infrastructure, application, or database migration.
- Experience with managing Kubernetes environments and troubleshooting products on AWS, Azure, and/or GCP is a plus.
