Join BigCommerce as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer
BigCommerce is seeking a talented Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic Infrastructure Engineering team. This is a remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within the United States. As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and maintaining the technology stack that powers BigCommerce stores, enabling our engineering teams to build and ship services efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with software engineers to integrate infrastructure and software, applying software engineering and SRE principles.
- Utilize infrastructure automation tools to build, maintain, monitor, and operate complex infrastructure.
- Work with scalable web architectures and cloud technologies.
- Code in multiple programming languages, primarily Golang, Python, Ruby, and Scala.
- Drive issues to completion, managing resources in high-pressure situations.
Who You Are
- You have 4+ years of experience in building software for, operating, or supporting large Linux-based web application environments.
- You are an excellent communicator, comfortable working with geographically distributed teams.
- You have a passion for learning new technologies and languages.
- You possess strong UNIX systems administration skills, including scripting in Python, Ruby, PHP, or Bash.
- You have experience running Docker with orchestration systems like Nomad, Kubernetes, or Amazon ECS.
- You are familiar with configuration management systems such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- You have experience with observability and application performance monitoring tools like ELK, Prometheus, New Relic, Sentry, and Lightstep.
