Senior Principal Software Engineer - Java, Spring Boot

Job Overview

Brinqa is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to join our team in developing cutting-edge risk management solutions as part of our Attack Surface Intelligence Platform. This role is pivotal in building scalable and performant features for our platform, which processes and analyzes vast amounts of data to help Fortune 500 companies manage cyber risks effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Software Design: Design software products that meet current requirements and can evolve with new demands.
• Technical Leadership: Provide guidance on software implementation to support the product roadmap and ensure alignment with customer needs.
• Quality Initiatives: Champion processes that support team-led work planning and predictable execution.
• Operational Support: Deliver reliable support for both internal and external consumers of our technologies.
• Team Development: Assist in building a highly capable team through talent identification and recruitment.

What You Will Do

• Lead the design of software products that meet our current requirements and are able to evolve as new requirements become known.
• Provide technical leadership on software implementation in support of the product roadmap.
• Demonstrate leadership in support of quality initiatives that achieve the expectations of prospects and maintain high renewal rates.
• Champion processes that support team-led work planning, value delivery, and predictable execution.
• Participate in planning sessions that ensure quality objectives are well understood so that standards and metrics can be established.
• Deliver predictable operational support for both internal and external consumers of our technologies.
• Assist in building a highly capable team based on great talent identification and recruiting.
• Help ensure that the engineering team is happy, prolific, and autonomous.
• Maximize the productivity of our technologies by assisting in the development of technical documentation.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in building large-scale SaaS applications.
• 7+ years of experience in SaaS Java/Groovy enterprise web application development.
• 5+ years of experience in Spring Boot.
• Experience in developing web-scale applications and working with REST APIs.
• Ability to work in all areas of the tech stack (i.e., “Full-Stack Engineer”).
• Understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies.
• Significant work experience in enterprise IT systems management applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Neo4j.
• Experience developing cybersecurity applications.
• Master’s or Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position based in Austin, Texas, requiring on-site work at the corporate office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
