Job Overview
Orion Innovation is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our dynamic team in Berkeley Heights, NJ. This role is ideal for someone who has a deep understanding of Java and its associated technologies and frameworks. You will be part of a team that is instrumental in developing complex software solutions that meet our clients' needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality software design and architecture.
- Identify, prioritize, and execute tasks in the software development life cycle.
- Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code.
- Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting.
- Review and debug code.
- Perform validation and verification testing.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve products.
- Document development phases and monitor systems.
- Ensure software is up-to-date with latest technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of experience in Java development.
- Proficient in Java 11, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
- Experience with database management and development (MySQL, DB2, Oracle SQL).
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) including ELB, SQS, SES, SWF, SNS.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Play Framework and Scala.
- Knowledge of RESTful and SOAP web services.
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools like IntelliJ, GIT, and Bitbucket.
