About the Role
Yahoo is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join our Developer Productivity team. This team is integral to evolving Yahoo’s Software Development Life-Cycle (SDLC) platforms and tools. As part of the larger CTO organization, the Developer Productivity team provides CI/CD, Source Control, Artifact Storage, and Cloud Architecture. Our mission is to deliver state-of-the-art developer platforms, standards, and tooling to serve the engineering community and accelerate business growth.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers across the team and organization.
- Build on existing and create new standards leveraging public cloud and Kubernetes ecosystems.
- Enhance Developer Productivity platforms and services, both in cloud and in the datacenter.
- Be curious and inquisitive about finding the right solutions to problems.
- Enhance standards and "paved roads" to benefit all engineering at Yahoo.
Required Skills
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- 4+ years of experience working with AWS and/or GCP services and APIs.
- Experience building and deploying large-scale systems.
- Proficient in managing the Kubernetes cluster lifecycle.
- Experience in deploying and managing applications in Kubernetes.
- Experienced in writing Terraform.
- Experience with end-to-end automation and CI/CD workflows.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient in coding in languages such as Go, Python, Ruby, or Java.
- Experienced in training others.
- A continuous learner who stays current with technology trends.
Bonus Skills
- Experience with Serverless cloud platforms.
