About the Role
Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Institutional Trading Derivatives team. This team is responsible for enabling derivatives trading for both retail and institutional customers in the US and internationally. As a senior engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing new products, creating services, and building tools and frameworks to support our trading platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Implement New Products: Work on creating and building new services, reporting, monitoring tools, frameworks, and APIs.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with engineers, product managers, and senior leadership to turn our vision into tangible deliverables every quarter.
- Mentor Team Members: Help uplift the technical skill set across the team by mentoring junior engineers.
Who You Are
- Experienced: You have at least 5 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in back-end web development, object-oriented programming, and service-oriented architecture.
- Passionate: You are passionate about building an open financial system and are excited about the potential of crypto and blockchain technologies.
Nice to Haves
- High Performance Low Latency Engineering: Experience in building systems that require high performance and low latency.
- Trading Expertise: Knowledge or experience in trading systems or financial services.
