About the Role
As a Software Engineer focusing on Backend Development for Developer Experience at Coinbase, you will be part of the Infrastructure organization. This team is crucial in enabling the rest of Coinbase Engineering to efficiently write, build, test, deploy, and operate the various services and components that power our products. Specifically, you will be working within the Author Pod, which is dedicated to enhancing the Authoring phase of software development.
Key Responsibilities
- Tool Development: Learn, maintain, and improve existing developer-productivity tools and systems, and build new ones using Go.
- Problem Solving: Design scalable, fault-tolerant solutions to novel problems using modern cloud technology and industry best practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to translate our product and technical vision into a tangible roadmap each quarter.
- Vision Articulation: Develop a long-term vision for maintaining and scaling our backend systems and the teams that manage them.
Who You Are
- Experience: You have at least 2+ years of experience in software engineering, with a track record of designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services.
- Code Quality: You write high-quality, well-tested code that meets the needs of your customers.
- Passion for Finance: You are passionate about building an open financial system that unites the world.

- Competitive Salary: The target annual salary for this position ranges from $147,900 to $174,000 USD, depending on your work location.
