Join Coinbase as the Head of Brokerage in Cyprus
Coinbase is seeking a highly experienced Head of Brokerage to lead and manage the trading support of our Cyprus Trading Business. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our trading activities and maintaining strong relationships with clients and partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Trading Support: Oversee the reception and transmission of orders, establish procedures, and perform controls including cash, digital asset, and collateral reconciliations.
- Client and Partner Relations: Build and maintain close relationships with clients, colleagues, and external service providers.
- Market Operations: Manage market operations, client servicing, and platform support on Coinbase International Exchange for EU residents.
- System Monitoring: Ensure continuous oversight of the exchange’s infrastructure, including order matching and liquidity in perpetual future markets.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with teams to troubleshoot trading, funding, and configuration issues.
- Collateral Management: Ensure appropriate collateral is agreed and transacted with counterparties daily.
- Regulatory Compliance: Review margin requirements and provide reporting to auditors, management, and clients.
- Project Leadership: Lead projects related to business product and system development, and process improvement.
- Industry Engagement: Drive the evolution of the marketplace through participation in industry associations and initiatives.
Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years of professional experience with a strong operational leadership background.
- Certification: CySEC advanced certification.
- Education: University degree and/or professional qualifications in a related field.
- Financial Markets Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial markets and related instruments, including derivatives.
- Cryptocurrency Familiarity: Experience with cryptocurrencies, exchange trading, and blockchain transactions.
- Regulatory Background: Experienced regulatory background and strong risk awareness.
- Communication Skills: Executive level communication skills and fluency in English.
Nice to Haves
- Programming Knowledge: Ability to transform manual touch points and create efficiencies in workflows.
- On-chain Crypto Activities: Experience with on-chain crypto activities is a strong plus.
