About the Role
Coinbase is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Infrastructure team, specifically focusing on the Platform (Compute) area. This role is crucial in building and maintaining the infrastructure that supports our staking platform validators, both for internal and external customers. As part of the Bison Trails acquisition, you will also be responsible for migrating this infrastructure onto Coinbase's "paved road" infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Build Support for Staking Validators: Develop first-class support for staking validator workloads on Coinbase infrastructure.
- Infrastructure Management: Support existing GCP/AWS infrastructure and operations for staking validators.
- Tooling and Automation: Create tools and automation to simplify the management of Kubernetes clusters and improve the developer experience.
- Operationalize Kubernetes: Ensure our Kubernetes platform is automated and self-healing to minimize on-call burdens.
- Customer Support: Assist customers in operating critical staking services within Kubernetes.
What We Look For
- Experience: At least 3+ years in software engineering, with knowledge of Kubernetes or similar systems like Mesos or Nomad.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Proficiency in AWS and/or GCP infrastructure.
- Backend Services: Ability to build backend services in addition to infrastructure.
- Quality and Initiative: High standards for quality, self-starter, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Problem Solving: Strong skills in identifying problems, determining root causes, and implementing solutions.
- Business and Technical Balance: Ability to balance business needs with technical solutions.

Salary
The annual salary for this position ranges from €147,900 to €174,000, depending on location and experience. Full-time offers include target bonuses and equity options.
