Role Summary
As a Senior Software Engineer in Developer Productivity, you will be pivotal in optimizing our engineering processes and systems. You will work on the Build Team, which supports build systems for MongoDB's engineering organization, including our Bazel build system. This role involves a mix of development, maintenance, and innovation across multiple programming languages and technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain build systems for MongoDB's engineering organization.
- Implement new build-related capabilities to enhance developer productivity.
- Provide ongoing support and technical guidance to internal engineering teams.
- Collaborate on projects from ideation to delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Ideal Candidate
- Deep technical expertise in build systems, particularly with experience in C++, Java, and Python.
- Strong commitment to quality code and best practices in software development.
- Proven ability to mentor other developers and lead projects.
- Experience with Docker, compiler internals, and static analysis tools is a plus.
Success Measures
- Within the first month: Make meaningful contributions to existing projects.
- Within three months: Lead core contributions to at least one feature.
- Within six months: Propose improvements for developer experience and take responsibility for upcoming projects.
- Within a year: Mentor other developers and design and lead significant projects.
