Senior Software Engineer - Logistics
About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer at Lob, you will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing our logistics applications. You will primarily work with Node.js, Go, and Vue.js within a Service-Oriented Architecture. Our infrastructure is hosted on AWS, utilizing SQS queues and Lambda functions. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of supply chain and logistics solutions, focusing on middle mile sortation and direct mail commingling technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Logistics Solutions: Contribute to the development of logistics applications, focusing on middle mile sortation and direct mail commingling technologies.
- Mentorship: Coach and mentor fellow engineers and team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Product and Print Delivery Network teams to understand and solve complex problems.
- Best Practices: Lead and champion best practices in code design and architecture, ensuring high-quality software delivery.
What You Bring
- Experience: 4+ years as a Software Engineer, with expertise in Node.js, Go, Vue.js, or similar languages.
- Operational Responsibility: 3+ years managing large-scale software systems.
- Database Knowledge: 4+ years working with relational databases like MySQL, Postgres, or SQL Server.
- NoSQL and Job-Queueing Systems: Experience with NoSQL stores (e.g., Redis) and job-queueing systems (e.g., SQS, Kafka).
- Testing and Documentation: Experience with unit and automated testing frameworks and writing documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.
Compensation
- Base Salary: $170,000 - $207,500, depending on location and experience.
- Equity: RSUs included as part of the compensation package.
