Role Overview

As a Senior Solutions Engineer at ShipBob, you will be a key member of our Revenue team, responsible for understanding the strategic needs of our small to medium and mid-market clients. Your role will involve delivering value to facilitate their growth and success. You will partner with ShipBob’s Sales, Implementation, and Success teams to align the merchant's key business objectives and technical requirements with a compelling technical solution. Additionally, you will execute on the solution by collaborating with the Product, Engineering, and Implementation teams.

Key Responsibilities

Understand Merchant Goals: Design solutions that meet merchant objectives and technical requirements.
Technical Vision: Develop a technical vision and implementation roadmap for strategic and budget-friendly product rollouts.
Implementation Management: Partner with Implementation Specialists to manage the execution of the implementation roadmap.
Sales Support: Provide guidance in various sales stages, including RFPs and vendor assessments.
Industry Proficiency: Maintain proficiency in industry trends, ShipBob’s service offerings, value propositions, and case studies.
Best Practices: Build Sales Engineering best practices to ensure team scalability through documentation, process optimization, and cross-training.
Product Evangelism: Maintain awareness of product roadmap and new features to evangelize with customers and deliver feedback to the product management team.
Mentorship: Assist and coach other solutions engineers in needs analysis, creating practical solutions, and navigating the implementation process.

Qualifications

7-9 years of experience in a merchant-facing, technical capacity in SaaS/e-commerce.
Experience working with both technical and business stakeholders.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with e-commerce platforms, order management systems, inventory management, WMS, TMS, supply chain, logistics.
Proficiency in APIs, SQL, or scripting languages like Ruby or Python.
High EQ and interpersonal skills.
Proven track record of managing initiatives and working cross-functionally.
Comfortable in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
Solid project management skills.
Experience with small and medium businesses and/or tech preferred.
High-growth or early-stage startup experience is a plus.
