What You’ll Do
As a Senior Software Engineer at Torch, you will help create delightful experiences for our customers in close collaboration with stakeholders on the engineering, product, and operations teams. You will take a significant role in owning features and will collaborate closely with the CTO and other leaders to land changes that meaningfully affect the course of the business.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable and performant systems.
- Work closely with non-engineers, such as product designers, product managers, or business stakeholders.
- Own features from conception to deployment.
- Collaborate with the CTO and other leaders to implement impactful changes.
What We Are Looking For
- 4+ years of experience in a professional engineering environment.
- Deep familiarity with building for the web across both the front and backend.
- Experience building products or large-scale features with a high level of polish.
- A demonstrated record of building scalable and performant systems.
Bonus Points
- Started a company of your own.
- Taken an active role in setting coding or architecture standards for an engineering team.
- Been a part of brainstorming and ideation sessions for early-stage products or features.
- Dealt with performance and scaling systems with databases or data stores in real-world settings.
- Helped manage complex, zero downtime migrations of critical system components.
