About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer at Datadog, you will be part of a dynamic team that pushes the envelope in cloud application monitoring. You will tackle challenging, novel situations every day and work with just about every other engineering and operations team. You will be involved in every aspect of the project lifecycle, from brainstorming product ideas to pushing code to production.
Responsibilities
- Solve scaling bottlenecks in critical services.
- Deploy new features to production, progressively rolling them out with feature flags.
- Investigate and fix production issues in services your team owns.
- Design ways to scale up services for more traffic.
- Collaborate with your team to plan the most important projects to work on next.
Requirements
- Significant experience in one or more programming languages (Go, C, Python preferred).
- Value code simplicity and performance.
- Ability to design architecture to solve problems at high scale.
- BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering.
Bonus Points
- Experience at high scale with systems like Redis, Cassandra, Kafka.
- Experience in writing your own data pipelines.
- Strong background in statistics.
