At Turquoise Health, we are on a mission to make healthcare pricing simpler, more transparent, and lower cost for everyone. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Python and Django to join our dynamic engineering team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the US.

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our healthcare pricing platform. You will work with a small, highly-capable development team where everyone has a significant impact on the growth and direction of the company. Your responsibilities will include:

Developing Django-based websites using Python and PostgreSQL.
Working with large data sets, including scripting imports, exports, data cleaning, and analysis.
Writing effective, scalable code and testing and debugging programs.
Improving the functionality of existing systems and implementing security and data protection solutions.
Assessing and prioritizing feature requests and coordinating with other team members to understand user requirements and provide technical solutions.

Ideal Qualifications

Work experience in Python, or strong experience in another programming language with some exposure to Python.
Expertise in at least one popular Python web framework (preferably Django) or a similar framework in another language (like Ruby on Rails).
Good understanding of SQL and efficient database usage.
Familiarity with front-end technologies like JavaScript and HTML5.
Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with good problem-solving and communication skills.
BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field, or equivalent experience/knowledge.

Bonus Points

Experience working on open-source projects.
Experience with git and GitHub.
Interest in emerging AI development patterns such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Agentic Workflows.
Experience using Pandas, Numpy, or Dask for manipulating and analyzing large datasets.
Strong writing skills.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this full-time position is €170,000 to €185,000 per year. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level and reflect the minimum and maximum salary across all US locations. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including equity options, health care plans, unlimited PTO, and more.
