Amalgam is seeking a Lead Developer to join our growing team in New York, NY. As a Lead Developer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the technical vision of our company and driving the development of our innovative business automation platform.
About Amalgam
Amalgam Software is a comprehensive business automation platform that allows users to download, update, and analyze data trapped in common business apps such as Shopify, Quickbooks, Stripe, Salesforce, and Amazon. Our platform links your Google or Excel spreadsheet to your apps, eliminating file exporting, copy/pasting, and manual entry, saving time and resources, and making strategic analysis possible.
Role Overview
As a Lead Developer, you will focus on technical leadership rather than personnel management. You will work closely with our founder to plan, prioritize, and implement new product features based on technical needs and business opportunities. You will be the go-to contributor for challenging problems and help refine existing solutions for better efficiency, stability, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the founder to plan and prioritize new product features.
- Act as a primary resource for complex implementation questions.
- Provide mentorship and support for junior members of the development team.
- Develop product mastery and coordinate with user-facing and sales teams.
- Guide the business as it grows, contributing to personnel, strategy, and culture.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in full-stack or back-end development roles.
- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and AWS.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical team members.
- A flexible, creative thinker with the ability to quickly learn and solve problems.
- Confidence to make decisions with imperfect information.
Nice to Haves
- Experience with React and Flask frameworks.
- Familiarity with Excel is a plus.
