Job Overview
WP Engine is seeking a Software Engineer with a focus on AI/ML Production Engineering to join our dynamic engineering team. This role is pivotal in evolving our platform to incorporate Machine Learning for enhanced operations and visibility. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team of engineers to build the core AIOps framework.
- Develop, test, and debug software applications that are resilient, secure, and scalable.
- Enhance WP Engine’s platform to support millions of end users.
- Utilize and improve continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
- Expand observability services using ETL pipelines, monitoring tools, and machine learning.
- Implement scalable processes for deploying machine learning models.
- Work with Elasticsearch (EFK) to index operational data.
- Develop automation tools for ML operations, model training, and deployment.
- Establish monitoring systems for platform health and reliability.
- Engage with stakeholders and product management for feature/product releases.
- Participate in on-call rotation to address production interrupts.
Required Skills and Experience
- 2-3+ years in a software engineering role.
- Strong Linux background.
- Proficient in Python programming.
- Experience with data collection and transformation.
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch (ELK, EFK).
- Experience with Machine Learning and AIOps.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies and services (GCP, AWS).
- Continuous learning mindset and ability to stay ahead of technology trends.
- Some experience with Kubernetes.
- On-call experience for critical services.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with training and fine-tuning models using Python libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and NumPy.
- Experience with data engineering, data processing, and data pipelines.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, IAC, and tools like Terraform, Helm, Cloudbuild, Jenkins.
- Experience with ML tools like Google’s VertexAI platform.
