Job Overview
Galileo Financial Technologies is seeking a Staff Frontend Developer to join our team in Seattle, WA. This role is pivotal in transforming our Money product architecture, focusing on the evolution of our banking core and the implementation of enhanced account structures. You will work on React-based web applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop testable and accessible web applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain React-based web applications.
- Collaborate with designers to identify and solve potential implementation issues.
- Generate, enhance, and promote ideas for new projects and technologies.
- Deliver and operate highly available and scalable services in a production environment.
- Communicate with project leads, product managers, and other software developers on multiple projects.
- Define new product/technical architectures across one or several features of products.
- Mentor other engineers, support the technical culture, and help the team grow.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with modern JavaScript libraries, tooling, and frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of front-end technologies.
- Familiarity with responsive design/development and mobile-web best practices.
- Solid understanding of software design and architecture.
- Experience in unit, functional, and end-to-end testing.
- Experience with Node.js is a plus.
- Strong sense of responsibility and drive for delivery.
- Experience working in a collaborative coding environment.
Nice to Have
- Interest in personal finance.
- Experience managing your own investments or taking out loans.
- Experience scaling highly available, mission-critical systems.
- Full-stack experience, either toward systems (Kafka, Docker, POSIX), databases (Postgres), or front-end (JavaScript/TypeScript, React).
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range: $153,600—$264,000 USD
- Eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentives
- Comprehensive benefits package
