About the Role
As a Staff Rust Engineer at Stellar Development Foundation, you will be pivotal in designing, building, and implementing changes to Stellar Core, the primary distributed system used for maintaining Stellar's ledger and obtaining global consensus. This role involves a wide range of responsibilities from designing features that enhance network performance and decentralization to playing with formal models and verification.
Responsibilities
- Design and build key components of Stellar Core.
- Develop robust, scalable, and extensible technologies.
- Collaborate on new architectures and subsystems with the CTO and engineering team.
- Write clean, maintainable code with an emphasis on edge case analysis and future-proofing.
- Own core subsystems of Stellar Core, helping the team hit critical product milestones.
- Collaborate on code review and design, contributing to best practices.
- Investigate and refactor performance bottlenecks to scale the system.
- Author detailed technical feature and protocol specifications.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software development.
- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent field.
- Proficiency in modern C++ or Rust in a production environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead technical discussions.
- Deep understanding of software design patterns and component modularity.
- Knowledge in performance debugging and benchmarking.
