InfluxData, the creator of InfluxDB, is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Rust to join our team. This is a remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere while contributing to the development of InfluxDB 3.0, a fast, columnar, time series database.

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of a team building the future open-source foundation of InfluxDB. You will work on the core database and other subsystems, focusing on our InfluxDB 3 OSS and Pro (single server) products. Your responsibilities will include:

Writing well-tested, high-performance Rust code for a vectorized in-memory columnar store.
Designing and implementing core components of InfluxDB 3 OSS and Pro.
Communicating your ideas through design documents and documentation for other programmers.
Performing code reviews for peers and open-source contributors.
Fixing issues encountered by customers and open-source users.

What We Are Looking For

Strong CS fundamentals and a genuine love of programming.
3+ years of backend experience in a mainstream language (Rust, C/C++, Go, etc.).
1+ year of solid Rust experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work asynchronously.

Bonus Points

Experience working with database internals or other data-intensive applications.
Experience working with distributed teams.
Experience working on a popular open-source project.
