Staff Software Engineer, AI Product

About the Role

PushPress is seeking a product-focused Staff Software Engineer with deep expertise in building AI-powered features. In this role, you will be instrumental in integrating large language models (LLMs) into our platform to deliver intelligent experiences to our users. You will collaborate closely with our product, design, and engineering teams to ideate, design, and implement AI solutions that drive real user value. As a hands-on technical leader, you will guide the team in adopting best practices for developing and deploying AI in a production SaaS environment.

What You'll Do

• Design and build end-to-end AI features using LLMs that enhance our product offerings.
• Integrate LLM APIs (e.g., GPT, Anthropic) into our platform to power intelligent capabilities.
• Develop robust APIs and backend services to support AI-powered features.
• Apply prompt engineering and fine-tuning techniques to optimize LLMs for our domain.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ideate and prototype innovative AI solutions.
• Establish architectural patterns and best practices for building maintainable AI-powered products.
• Guide the team in adopting MLOps practices for reliable and efficient AI deployments.
• Evangelize AI best practices and mentor engineers in leveraging AI technologies effectively.

What You'll Need

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years building AI-powered products.
• Strong full-stack development skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs into user-facing applications.
• Expertise in prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and data preparation for LLMs.
• Proven track record of shipping successful AI features in a B2B SaaS context.
• Excellent product sense and user empathy; ability to translate AI capabilities into user value.
• Strong architecting skills to build scalable and maintainable AI-enabled products.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with product, design, and data science teams.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to explain complex AI concepts to diverse audiences.
