Role Overview
The Technical Support Lead & Product Test Engineer is responsible for overseeing the operations and requirements of the Bottanuco Product Testing & Tech Support Facility. This role is primarily focused on ensuring efficient UN certification laboratory operations and handling testing to support customer, sales, and manufacturing requests for technical assistance, failure root cause analysis, product development, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a globally aligned testing model for UN Certification Testing and test programs.
- Coordinate the laboratory operations and procedures for the UN Testing program for rigid products, primarily plastic drums, IBCs, and jerrycans.
- Analyze test results and prepare detailed reports.
- Support requests for assistance from sales and manufacturing in investigating customer complaints.
- Provide feedback to sales and plants on results of investigations in accordance with company quality procedures.
- Communicate with competent authorities on UN-testing and with internal and external customers and suppliers as appropriate.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Bottanuco Product Testing & Technical Support facility.
- Support MOC/TSR tests as requested.
- Conduct business in accordance with The Greif Way, treating all colleagues and customers with dignity and respect.
- Incorporate and maintain safety observances, including the use of all PPE by employees, ensuring guards and safety features are working, and promoting good daily safety practices and habits.
- Establish a culture of proactivity for HS&E awareness within the team.
- Communicate goals and objectives, apply company policy, staff, train, coach, recommend salary increases, provide open and constructive feedback, ensure positive employee relations, and review employee performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Typically possesses a Technical School Certificate/Diploma.
- 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following: quality, test engineering, technical service. Experience with plastic drum technical and manufacturing is preferred.
