About This Position
Waystar is seeking a motivated Application Engineer Co-Op to join our agile development team in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a unique opportunity for current college students who are part of a 3-semester co-op program. As a Co-Op, you will actively contribute to our mission of simplifying and unifying healthcare payments across the revenue cycle.
What You'll Do
- Design, Develop, and Test: Work alongside experienced engineers to design, develop, and test new features and enhancements on our platform.
- Collaborate: Engage with peers, team leads, managers, directors, and the VP of Engineering to build web-scale products.
- Deploy Code: Your code will be deployed to production multiple times during your term, providing real-world experience in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of programming concepts.
- Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages such as C#, .NET, PHP, Java, or Ruby.
- Experience with SQL and infrastructure components like servers, networking, and load balancers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and work both independently and in teams.
Preferred Skills
- Working knowledge of Linux, MySQL, and object-oriented design.
- Familiarity with Golang, JavaScript frameworks (AngularJS, VueJS), Kubernetes, AWS, and Jenkins.
- Experience with Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo).
