Job Overview
Amazon's AWS Generative AI Innovation Center is seeking an Applied Science Manager to lead the development of cutting-edge generative AI solutions. This role involves partnering with technology and business teams to innovate and deliver state-of-the-art solutions to complex business and mission problems.
Responsibilities
- Direct a team of data/research/applied scientists, deep learning architects, and ML engineers.
- Build generative AI models and pipelines.
- Drive discussions with senior technical and management personnel within customers and partners.
- Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts.
- Identify opportunities for building reusable technical assets.
- Provide customer and market feedback to Product and Engineering teams.
- Drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers.
About the Team
The GenAI Innovation Center team guides customers in applying generative AI responsibly and cost-efficiently, helping to scope use cases, select models, and develop plans for launching solutions at scale.

Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or MSc with industry experience.
- Experience managing scientists or machine learning engineers.
- Knowledge of ML, NLP, Information Retrieval, and Analytics.
- Ability to handle senior stakeholder management and multidisciplinary team collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in building machine learning models for business applications.
- Deep expertise in generative AI and AWS AI/ML services.
- Project management experience in cross-functional projects.
