Job Overview
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an Applied Science Manager for the newly launched Generative AI Innovation Center (GenAIIC). This role is pivotal in accelerating the adoption of Generative AI technologies among AWS customers, helping them solve complex business and operational challenges. As a manager, you will lead a team of data scientists, ML engineers, and researchers to innovate and implement cutting-edge AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Engagement: Directly interact with customers to promote the adoption of Generative AI technologies. Understand their business needs and provide tailored AI solutions.
- Team Leadership: Manage and expand the team of scientists and engineers. Focus on hiring, training, and mentoring to build a top-tier AI expertise team.
- Strategic Development: Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts and contribute to the strategic planning of AI implementations.
- Innovation and Growth: Drive the creation of new technical assets that can be leveraged across multiple customer scenarios. Provide feedback to product and engineering teams to influence the direction of AWS AI solutions.

Candidate Profile
- Education: PhD or MSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in managing technical teams, with a strong background in ML, NLP, and AI.
- Skills: Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to handle strategic customer relationships.
- Preferred: Experience with AWS AI/ML services and a deep understanding of generative AI technologies.
