About the Role

As the Senior Director of Generative AI Solutions and Operations, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AI at Tripadvisor. This senior leadership position involves developing and executing a comprehensive Generative AI data strategy to drive business objectives. You will partner with key business stakeholders, data and engineering teams, and external vendors to leverage data effectively for informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and Implement Strategy: Create a growth strategy for the generative AI practice aligned with the company's business objectives. Identify new business opportunities and cultivate relationships with stakeholders interested in generative AI solutions.
• AI Features and Offerings: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to define AI vision and goals. Design customized AI strategies and offerings aligned with business objectives, industry trends, and technological advancements.
• Operational Planning: Develop a Gen AI operational plan ensuring robustness, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. Evaluate buy vs. build options and decide on custom applications versus third-party solutions.
• Lead Implementation: Oversee the implementation of AI solutions by working closely with cross-functional teams. Define project scopes, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring seamless integration of AI technologies into existing systems.
• Evangelize AI Benefits: Promote the benefits and opportunities of generative AI for content creation and production efficiency across the organization. Prepare compelling presentation materials and represent the group as an influential authority on the subject.
• Partnership Development: Develop partnerships with senior leadership, aligning initiatives with Tripadvisor's product, business, and technology strategies. Establish collaboration and support for investment in new technology directions.
• AI Transformation: Drive AI transformation initiatives, including change management, training programs, and cultural shifts. Foster a data-driven mindset within the organization and promote AI adoption across various departments.
• Stay Current with AI Developments: Continuously research and evaluate emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and methodologies. Keep up with industry trends to provide up-to-date recommendations.
• Measure and Evaluate: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the effectiveness of AI initiatives. Regularly monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and provide insightful reports.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or advanced degree in business management, data science, business analytics, computer science, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years in leadership roles spanning business management, strategy, operations, and technical areas such as data science and machine learning.
• Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to create high-level strategies in new business areas.
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and influence at a senior level, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and drive results in a dynamic environment.
• Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of emerging trends in business applications of data and AI, and the latest developments in AI technologies.
• Change Management: Proven experience in driving cultural and organizational change towards a more data-centric mindset.
• Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Project Management: Ability to provide direction and oversight to ensure project resources are optimized and priorities are aligned with strategic objectives.
