Back End Developer with DevOps Experience

Job Overview

Join a leading financial services organization as a Back-End Developer with DevOps experience. You will be part of a new capability within the RDP Content Platform Technology, working on a cloud-based (AWS) self-service platform utilizing a micro-service approach and implementing multi-tenancy. The platform is developed using market-leading technologies such as Kubernetes (EKS), Kafka, and serverless databases (Aurora). The codebase is primarily written in Java/Kotlin, using Spring (Web/Data/Security), with some components in Python. The front-end is built with React and Redux. The team follows Agile Scrum methodologies and uses tools like Jenkins for CI/CD and GitLab for version control.

Responsibilities

• Understand and analyze business use cases and technical requirements.
• Build and integrate a suite of internal and external services running in a microservice ecosystem.
• Deliver complex infrastructure (IaaC) and automate infrastructure deployments.
• Collaborate with front-end developers and designers to deliver the best possible solution.
• Provide specialist advice to middle and senior management to resolve complex issues.
• Develop software/scripts to perform all SDLC activities using CI/CD automation.
• Make recommendations for improvements to existing architecture.

Technical Skills Required

• 2-5 years of experience as a back-end Java developer.
• Experience with APIs, microservices, RESTful APIs, databases, Unix, cloud platforms (preferably AWS), and serverless approaches.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform (IaaC).
• Proficiency in Java/Kotlin programming languages and related tools.
• Experience with multi-threading and inter-process communication.
• Familiarity with Spring (Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data).
• Exposure to build and packaging tools (Maven, Gradle).
• Knowledge of unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito).
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD tools integration and implementation, using Git and Jenkins.
• Knowledge of design patterns, SOLID principles, and OOD.
• Basic hands-on experience with Python.

• In-depth understanding of the entire development process (design, development, and deployment).
• Good written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience in SCRUM development and knowledge of JIRA and Confluence tools.
