Senior Software Engineer - Developer Productivity

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll be joining our Engineering Team within Engineering Excellence & Productivity (EXP) as a Senior Engineer. One of the principal aims of our team is to bring new software or new features to production as quickly as possible.

We are responsible for enhancing the productivity, efficiency, and satisfaction of our development teams by designing and improving tooling, workflows, and processes. You will work closely with engineers across multiple teams to identify problems and bottlenecks, streamline development environments, and enable faster delivery of high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities

• Developer Productivity Optimization: Identify and resolve developer problems related to code, build, test, and deployment workflows.
• Incident Response and Debugging / L2 Support: Assist teams in quickly diagnosing and resolving issues related to development environment, tools, or pipelines.
• Developer Desktop Tools and Services: Own software development tools approval by testing, evaluating, investigating behaviors, and raising and following up with vendors.
• Tooling & Automation: Develop and maintain internal tools and services that help automate repetitive tasks and improve development workflows (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, development environments, etc.).
• Collaboration: Work closely with product teams, DevOps, and platform engineers to deliver the best tools and practices for development workflows.
• Documentation & Education: Create documents, guidelines, and best practices for internal tools, processes, and workflows. Conduct training sessions for developers to improve their productivity and adoption of new tools.
• Developer Onboarding: Streamline the developer onboarding process by building easy-to-use, self-service development environments.
• Performance and Scalability: Ensure developer tools and systems scale efficiently with team growth and increased codebase complexity.

Required Skills and Experience

• Hands-on experience with professional software engineering, with a focus on improving developer workflows and productivity.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as JavaScript, C, C++, Python, Java, Terraform, Ruby, or others.
• Experience with version control (e.g., Git), CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI), and build systems.
• Experience with cloud providers (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Expertise in automating software development processes and optimizing development environments.
• Familiarity with modern development tools and practices, such as containers (Docker), Kubernetes, Microservices, Dev IDE's (Visual Studio Code, JetBrains, etc), Node.js.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to investigate and solve complex issues.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with teams in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
