We are seeking a talented Senior Backend Developer to join our dynamic team in Košice, Slovakia. About the Role
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team responsible for developing REST APIs for new functionalities in our digital banking platform, George. You will be involved in the entire development lifecycle, from ideation and planning to implementation and deployment. Your expertise will help us experiment with new technologies and improve our microservices architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
- Design and build scalable and distributed systems on Kubernetes/OpenShift.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ideate and implement new features.
- Ensure high-quality code through automated testing and continuous delivery practices.
- Contribute to the technological landscape with innovative ideas and solutions.
Our Tech Stack
- Languages: Java 17 (with some components in Java 8 & 11)
- Frameworks: Spring Boot
- Architecture: Microservices
- Cloud: Private cloud with Docker and Kubernetes, with plans to migrate to Google Cloud
- Testing: JUnit, Mockito

- Extensive experience in web development using Java and Spring Boot.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and challenges.
- Experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift in a DevOps environment.
- Commitment to engineering best practices like continuous delivery and automated testing.
- Ability to write high-quality, maintainable code in various styles.

Compensation
We offer a competitive and performance-related salary, with a minimum wage of 2800 EUR gross per month for this full-time position. We are open to discussing your actual salary expectations based on your professional and personal qualifications.
