About The Team
The BNPL/Wallets team at Stripe is at the forefront of integrating modern payment solutions like Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) and digital wallets into our platform. This team is responsible for handling some of the largest consumer payment methods, processing billions annually and continuously enhancing the usability and accessibility of these payment options.
What You’ll Do
As a Backend / API Engineer, you will:
- Scope and lead large technical projects, setting the stage for innovative products to evolve and scale.
- Design, build, expand, and maintain robust APIs and services.
- Collaborate with partners to launch new markets and payment methods.
- Align technical decisions with Stripe’s strategic goals, advocating for specific needs of new business ventures.
- Develop and execute against both short- and long-term roadmaps, balancing business priorities with user experience and technical sustainability.
- Mentor and guide the next generation of engineers at Stripe, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
Who You Are
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have a strong technical background with at least 2 years of experience in software engineering, particularly with APIs.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of good practices in API development and usability.
- Prefer simple, sustainable solutions and have a knack for anticipating future needs.
- Thrive in cross-functional teams and excel at building relationships across various departments.
Hybrid Work Model
This role offers a hybrid work model, requiring at least 50% of your time to be spent in the office to facilitate collaboration and team learning.
Pay and Benefits
The annual US base salary range for this role is $150,500 - $225,700. This role may also include additional benefits such as equity, company bonuses, and comprehensive health benefits.
