Join Bitpanda as a Backend Engineer
Bitpanda is seeking a skilled Backend Engineer with a focus on JavaScript to join our Custody team in Bucharest. As a Backend Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining our Trust Vault platform, which is pivotal for the secure storage of crypto assets and interaction with DeFi applications.
Your Role
- Feature Development: Work directly on building new features and services related to Bitpanda’s Custody product offering.
- Scalable Solutions: Develop clean, scalable, and maintainable solutions for high-performance backend systems with an event-driven architecture hosted on AWS.
- Microservices: Work on loosely coupled microservices that support the core business services of the entire organization.
- Team Collaboration: Join a motivated team of highly skilled, experienced developers who can support and mentor you on your learning journey.
Who You Are
- JavaScript Expertise: You have intermediate or higher JavaScript knowledge with awareness of API development, including a solid understanding of language fundamentals, functional and OO programming approaches, and attention to code quality, readability, and maintainability.
- Database Experience: Experience with relational or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB) and knowledge of API design, websocket, and network communication.
- Event-Driven Design: Basic knowledge of event-driven design, like event streams, message brokers (e.g., Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS Event Bridge).
- Bonus Skills: Familiarity with Typescript, AWS Services, trading/markets, blockchain knowledge, DevOps infrastructure, Infrastructure-as-Code, AI, smart contracts, Cryptonodes, Web3 is a huge bonus.
