Bitpanda is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our Blockchain team in Barcelona. As a Software Engineer, you will be at the forefront of integrating the latest blockchain technologies into our ecosystem, including the implementation of the lightning network.

Your Responsibilities

• Maintain Cryptonodes and Services: Work directly on maintaining cryptonodes and services that interact with various parts of the crypto ecosystem.
• Develop Scalable Solutions: Create clean, scalable, and maintainable solutions for high-performance backend systems using event-driven architecture hosted on AWS with Kafka.
• Microservices Development: Work on loosely coupled microservices that support the core business services of the entire organization.
• Collaborate and Learn: Join a motivated team of highly skilled, experienced developers who can support and mentor you on your learning journey.

Who You Are

• Passionate About Blockchain: You have a fundamental understanding and passion for cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
• Proficient in Python: At least intermediate Python knowledge with API development basics, including a solid understanding of type hints and annotations.
• Database Experience: Experience with relational or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB) and knowledge of API design, WebSocket, and network communication.
• Event-Driven Design: Basic knowledge of event-driven design, such as event streams and message brokers (e.g., Apache Kafka).
• Bonus Skills: Familiarity with AWS services, trading/markets, DevOps infrastructure, Infrastructure-as-Code, AI, smart contracts, Cryptonodes, and Web3 is a plus.
