What You'll Do

As a Data Engineer, you will build and maintain the complex infrastructure required to process, store, and make large volumes of data accessible to a variety of users and applications. Your work will enable Holland Casino to make better-informed strategic and commercial decisions, with a focus on the Online Casino and all its associated aspects, from CRM to Compliance.

The data warehouse for the Online Casino is still in its infancy, presenting a unique opportunity for you to shape it from the ground up. You will ensure that the right data is available to meet customer needs, design technical solutions, build these solutions, and manage their operational aspects. A major transition to the cloud is on the horizon, and your ideas will be invaluable!

You will be a key partner for internal stakeholders and external data suppliers, working closely with other Data Engineers, Power BI Specialists, and Analysts. Success in this role requires close collaboration with Domain Experts who can provide insights into the workings of the Online Casino.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate customer needs into concrete data from Holland Casino's IT systems.
• Identify and understand necessary data sources.
• Design and build data pipelines: unlock raw data, structure (non)relational data, design and build data marts and tabular models.
• Monitor ETL processes daily.
• Document and update functional documentation.

You will join an ambitious and enthusiastic Business Analytics team, working alongside colleagues in the analytics domain (6), research domain (2), and business intelligence domain (6). Together, you will develop your expertise and provide the best dashboards to our stakeholders, with your focus on the Online Casino.

You believe in creating value through data and contribute significantly by unlocking necessary data sources and processing the unlocked data. You are communicatively strong in both Dutch and English. You enjoy tackling a problem and always manage to uncover the question behind the question and map the associated data. It is important that you are curious, eager to learn, and proactive, as the online market is still in its infancy. You can see the bigger picture and are not afraid to voice your opinion.

Requirements

• Completed HBO or WO education with an analytical focus and/or a strong data-driven mindset.
• At least 3 years of work experience in a similar role.
• Strong in using Microsoft T-SQL.
• Extensive experience with ETL processes and tools such as SSIS or similar ETL tools.
• Experience with Python and other relevant programming languages.
• Preferred: Experience with AWS (S3, Lambda, IAM, Glue, Athena).
• Preferred: Knowledge of Scrum methodology and iGaming industry.
