Join Spotify as a Data Scientist in Finance Data & Insights
Spotify is seeking a talented Data Scientist to join our Finance Data & Insights team. This role is pivotal in supporting our Podcasts, Creator Payouts, and Ads Revenue data operations. You will be responsible for providing insights and analytics to both internal and external stakeholders within Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), and the broader Finance organization.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of data scientists, engineers, and finance representatives to define and test requirements for enhancing revenue recognition systems and data products.
- Support the development of systems, datasets, and processes to facilitate the ingestion, analysis, and reporting of advertising delivery and revenue data.
- Handle ad-hoc requests from various internal teams (Accounting, Legal, Licensing, Financial Planning, etc.) as well as external podcast publishers requiring analysis of advertising data and systems.
- Work with a group of highly motivated individuals who are passionate about Spotify’s success.
Who You Are
- You have 4+ years of experience using databases and analytics tools to solve business problems.
- You hold a degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics, or another quantitative discipline.
- You are skilled in SQL and Python; experience with other analytic tools (e.g., Pandas, R, BigQuery) and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) is a plus.
- You have proven experience communicating with both technical and non-technical teams to understand problems and articulate proposed solutions.
- You have experience performing analysis over large and complex data sets and formulating meaningful conclusions that inform business decisions.
- You possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills and can prioritize and deliver results in a fast-moving company with a wide variety of strategic initiatives.
- Ideally, you have previous experience working with advertising delivery data and relevant systems such as ad servers.
Where You'll Be
- This is a hybrid role based in our New York offices, with an average of 2 to 3 days a week required on-site.
- We operate within the Eastern time zone for collaboration.
Compensation and Benefits
- The United States base salary range for this position is $107,766.00 - $153,951.00 plus equity.
- Benefits include health insurance, six-month paid parental leave, a 401(k) retirement plan, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, and paid sick leave.
