Snap Inc. is seeking a talented Data Scientist with over 3 years of experience to join our dynamic team in New York, United States. As a Data Scientist at Snap, you will play a crucial role in driving informed and timely decision-making that enhances our products and optimizes their adoption.

What You'll Do

  • Quantitative Analysis: Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and statistical modeling to deliver impactful, objective, and actionable data insights.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, product marketers, and designers to drive product decisions.
  • Data Modeling: Use data modeling skills to identify key product trends and new opportunities.
  • Performance Analysis: Design, implement, and track core metrics to analyze product performance.
  • Visualization: Build visuals, dashboards, and reports to effectively communicate insights.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency in data modeling and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong skills in building dashboards and reports.
  • Initiative to drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
  • Understanding of Snapchat with excellent product sense.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in quantitative analysis and data science.
  • Proficiency in SQL or similar big data querying languages.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Experience with applied statistical techniques, including A/B testing and statistical modeling.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in applied mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, economics, or a related field.
  • Experience in a product-focused role at a social media or mobile technology company.
  • Experience using machine learning and statistical analysis for data-driven product solutions.
